Video Game Infographics
ESPN is a cable sports news company that provides coverage on a variety of subjects. Zach McCann has worked for ESPN for few years covering a variety of sports topics. Statista is an online infographic and statistics company that compiles data and publishes its results. The two infographics depict the state of the video game industry and the demographic who buy and play the industries products.
How are the information in both of the infographics related?
The demographic shown in the second infographic directly correlates with the sales and the growth of mobile gamers in the first infographic. Both infographics address what the demographic of gamers like to use and what they like to buy.
What is the effect of placing the gaming devices separately in the first infographic compared to have it all a pie chart for the second?
In the first infographic, it is obvious that people sometimes play multiple systems and consoles at the same time. However, in the second, it seems as if people only use one of the methods.
Why does the second infographic include the two “would you buy” questions? Do you feel as if they are out of place?
The second infographic does this in order to show what the demographic is willing to pay for. However, I feel as if it doesn’t advance the thought of who gamers are as it merely shows certain samples of goods that could be bought.
